Active Travel is an important element of Tactran’s Regional Transport Strategy and Delivery Plan. Section 5.3 of the Tactran RTS 2015-2036 Refresh outlines the detailed strategy for Active Travel and section 3 of the associated Tactran RTS Delivery Plan 2016-2021 provides details of Active Travel projects. Progress on individual projects is reported appropriately at Partnership Meetings.
Tactran Spaces for People
Tactran have been awarded £302,000 from Sustrans’ Spaces for People initiative to monitor the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on travel in the Tactran Region, in particular assessing the impact of Spaces for People infrastructure and interventions implemented by Tactran’s constituent Councils; assessing trends in our cities/towns and undertaking behaviour and attitude monitoring. Attitudinal surveys are being carried out and the reports are available below:

Tactran Active Travel Grant 2022/23
The 2022/23 Tactran Active Travel Grant provides capital funding to create infrastructure that enables more people to cycle and walk for everyday, utility journeys throughout the region. The grant is based on Sustrans Scotland’s Places for Everyone criteria and applications should address the aims and objectives of the Tactran Regional Transport Strategy Refresh 2015 – 2036, with particular focus on strategy 5.3 Active Travel.
